Mike is a versatile composer who plays well with others and has enjoyed an interesting progression of roles and responsibilities as a problem solver and creative collaborator in music, business and technology roles.
In 2024 he received a nomination for “Best Original Score” by the Indie Series Awards #IFS14.
His music draws on an eclectic history of collaborations, bands, and solo projects creating original and experimental music across multiple musical genres. Mike leverages choices for his compositions as a multi-instrumentalist and sound designer to enhance and serve the needs of music and video projects.
After releasing multiple albums from 2013 to 2020, Mike turned his focus to writing for film and video. He was top 10 award winner in both the 2021 & 2022 Indie Gathering international Film Scoring Competitions, and in 2022 he placed in the the Top Ten of the Horror Hotel Film Festival Scoring Competition.
In January 2023, he completed an intensive 6-month Cinematic Composing Program that included interactive master classes and critiques from illustrious film composers Javier Navarrete and Christopher Young, video game music composer Lennie Moore, and director Doug Campbell, in addition to a succession of critiqued exercises with multiple production music coaches.
In April 2023, he recorded and orchestrated an original score for a 40 piece orchestra played by the FAMES project in Macedonia. Post-production he added virtual elements, mixed the Protools audio files with the hybrid elements and edited video captured during the recording. The resulting music video placed 3rd in the music video category at the 2024 International Indie Gathering Film festival.
